Spiritual Journey to the sacred Sidemen Valley in Eastern Bali/Karangasem: Visit a majestic temple in the old kingdom of Bedahulu, where in the 11^th century Balinese Hinduism, as it still exists and is practiced today, was established by the famous Holy man Empu Kuturan. The huge temple complex also just became a member of UNESCU world heritage sites, today still mostly unknown to tourism and located off these roads..

The ancient Buddhist Monastery Tegallinga Candi Tebing from around the 9^th century is a place almost no tourists get to see. It’s hard to find and goes pretty far down a rocky path to its location. But once you are there, you are rewarded and surrounded by an incredible energy and the spirits who live there since more then a 1000 years and the climb was well worth it.     Our good friends at the Nirarta Centre of Living Awareness in Sidemen will spoil us with a delicious lunch and the view over the Sidemen valley cannot be described in words..

For many of our recent guests, the Highlight of this tour was maybe the visit of our long time friends home, one of the most important Griyas ( home of a Brahmana/High Priest family ), where our guests could get a blessing ( Melukat ) from the incredible High Priestess who resides with her family at this picture book Balinese home, now since 9 generations.
